Comparison
Braio vs tester.army
tester.army is a specialised QA agent that tests web and mobile apps without selectors. Braio does QA as one role in a team of agents — and closes the loop from defect to fix. Here is what that means in practice.

| Area | Braio | tester.army |
|---|---|---|
| Authoring tests | A scenario written as sentences, with a verdict per step; the agent also reports what it could not check. | Steps in plain language, one goal per step; Discovery Runs draft a test plan from a pull request. |
| Verdict | pass / fail / blocked — a blocked scenario does not lower the score, because nothing was observed. | pass / fail / blocked, with per-step results. |
| Evidence | Screenshots, console and network logs, the agent's reasoning trail, axe-core accessibility audit. | Screenshots, MP4 synchronised with steps, reasoning transcript, console/network logs, axe-core audit. |
| Defect list | One row per defect with a fingerprint, occurrence history and regression detection. | A deduplicated Issues tab with export to Linear and Jira. |
| After a bug is found | The defect can be handed to a coding agent: a brief with the evidence, a pull request, and a retest of the same scenario. | A report, a PR comment and an export to your tracker. |
| Mobile | Web only for now. | Web plus iOS and Android on cloud simulators and emulators. |
| Interfaces for agents | An MCP catalogue on the client side; our own MCP server is planned. | A hosted MCP server, a CLI, a REST API and a GitHub App that runs tests on pull requests. |
| Signing in during tests | Tests run without modifying the site; a credentials vault is planned. | Encrypted credentials, temporary mailboxes with OTP extraction, dedicated SMS numbers, TOTP. |
When tester.army is the better choice
- You are testing a mobile app — they have iOS simulators and Android emulators, and we do not yet.
- You need sign-in with an SMS code or an email link; they solved that as a product.
- You want to run tests from a CLI, MCP and a GitHub App without the rest of a platform.
When Braio is the better choice
- You want someone to fix the bug once it is found, not only to file it.
- You want QA next to the rest of the team's work: tasks, deployments, costs and approvals in one place.
- You need access control and an audit trail around tests that touch production.
Questions and answers
- How is a fix loop different from exporting a bug to Jira?
- An export ends with a ticket somebody has to pick up. In Braio the defect can be handed to a coding agent together with its evidence, you get a pull request to review, and after it merges the same scenario is retested automatically. A human still merges — there is no automatic merge.
- Does Braio test mobile apps?
- No, web only for now. Android emulators and iOS simulators sit in the backlog behind a market gate — we will build them when enough paying customers ask, not because a competitor has them.
- Where does the data in this table come from?
- From tester.army's public materials checked on 16 September 2026 and from our research notes in the repository. If something changed after that date, tell us and we will correct it.
